Welcome to Perls Galleries,

Klaus and his brother Frank, came from a well known art dealing family based in Berlin and then Paris. Klaus Perls opened Perls Galleries in New York City in 1937.

The gallery primarily dealt in contemporary French artists such as George Braque and Pablo Picasso, and also acted as the primary representative of Alexander Calder. Perls Galleries continued to sell French and European art and gained and early reputation as a staunch defender of modern art by artists such as Utrillo, Dufy, Modigliani, Leger, Soutine and Pascin.  Perls Galleries also assisted in the preparation of Catalogue raisonnes on Soutine and Pascin.

Perls Galleries was one of the founding members of the Art Dealer’s Association, and held respected and scholarly exhibitions for over 40 years!
